7:00 am to 6:00 pm on Friday

We realize that you may have scheduling challenges when your pet needs medical care. Therefore, we offer extended hours and early morning drop off services. You can leave your pet with us on your way to work, and we will call you at your convenience to discuss your pet's needs. Then, with your permission, we will provide these services. You 'll be able to pick up your pet on your way home. |

Laboratory
Thanks to our in house laboratory, we can have results on critical cases within 30 minutes or less! Our comprehensive, state of the art laboratory is equipped for serum chemistries which test internal organ function, hematology (to check for infection and anemia), urinalysis, and internal or external parasite testing. Additionally, we utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations with internists. |

Dental Services
Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, tooth extractions, oral surgery, and removal of growths in the mouth. We have the latest in equipment. We can refer pets to board-certified dental specialists for advanced dental procedures such as root canals, orthodontia, and reconstructive oral surgery.

Educational Materials
We have literature on a wide variety of pet care topics. Whether you have a new puppy at home or want to correct your cat's inappropriate elimination, we can help. We also have a video library.

Ultrasound
We offer on-site ultrasound. Ultrasound imaging is one of the most helpful diagnostic procedures. This non-invasive procedure obtains images from inside your pets body through the use of high-frequency sound waves. It is a useful way of examining the body's internal organs, including the heart, liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, kidneys, and bladder. Because this technology captures images in real time, it can show movement of internal tissues and organs, and enable the doctor to see blood flow and heart valve functions. It helps diagnose a variety of conditions, check for tumors, and identify other illnesses.

Electrocardiography
We provide electrocardiography (EKG) services on site. Within minutes we can have the results of this important test for heart irregularities or arrhythmias. Additionally, we can do consultations with veterinary cardiologists about cases. |

Vaccines
As in human medicine, it is important to make sure that the patient is healthy enough to tolerate a particular vaccine. It is critical to determine which vaccines are suitable for each individual pet's age, lifestyle, risk of exposure, and prior medical conditions. One vaccine program does not fit all pets! At Moorpark Vet we tailor our vaccinations to the needs of each individual pet. Additionally, we offer testing for a pet's vaccine antibody levels, which can aid in determining if a given pet may have sufficient protection to last for several years. In rare cases over vaccinating can cause medical problems. Therefore, we thoroughly check your pet's health before we vaccinate. As always, we are here to answer any questions. |

Licenses and Certificates
We issue the following licenses and health certificates:
Dog and cat licenses (the city of Moorpark requires that both dogs and cats be licensed), vaccination certificates, and health certificates (fitness to travel certificates). |

We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance, and performance. Pet foods are definitely NOT created equal, and some can be harmful! |

Pharmacy
Moorpark Veterinary Hospital has a complete pharmacy for your convenience. We have a full stock of all the medicines that the doctors may prescribe for your pet, so that your pet can be treated promptly and properly. We also carry a variety of flea control products, shampoos, and prescription foods. Also, you can request prescription refills through this web site, or by phone. Let us know if you are in a hurry, and we can usually fill your prescription within 15 minutes! Additionally, we can mail your prescription to you (a nominal fee applies). |

Digital Radiology
Our on site, state of the art digital x-ray equipment provides the highest quality radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of many disorders. Often within 10 minutes or less we can have the results of x-rays. We'll be glad to send you home with printouts, a CD, or email of your pet's x-rays. We can also offer to electronically send the x-rays to board-certified radiologists for their expert opinions.

Separate Waiting and Exam Areas for Dogs and Cats
Your pet gets his or her own "space" and you can enjoy refreshments, chat with fellow dog/cat owners, keep an eye on "Junior" in our play area, view an educational video, or simply relax. |

Surgery and Anesthesia
Our state of the art surgical suite is equipped for a wide variety of procedures. We use the safest human grade anesthetics for an extra margin of safety, especially for older or higher risk patients. (these anesthetics act rapidly, wear off quickly, and have the lowest incidence of side effects) We also use the most modern equipment to monitor the patient's vital signs during anesthetic procedures. |
